I want to get a racing wheel for my Xbox One, but which one should I get? The Mad Catz wheel (picture above, !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! ) which is much more expensive, or the Thrustmaster TX Racing Wheel, (below, !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! ), which is less expensive, but has a few less bugs and is part of a modular ecosystem. I have $500 to spend, but I don't want to !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! .

Thrustmaster has a better track record, that being said, my 360 wheel from them is a bit flimsy. If you can test drive them both, go for the one you like best

I got myself the Thrustmaster after having a MadCatz wheel on the 360. No more notchiness, much better precision. I'm really happy I didn't go the MadCatz route. I've mounted the pedals to a base which makes them much more stable.

You can check out Inside simracing's reviews on youtube of both. I used a TX on PC until recently (now selling it, replaced with CSW v2 for moddability and because I'm crazy) and liked it a good bit, but swapped to the GTE rim immediately and had non-Thrustmaster shifter and pedals. The standard rim that comes with the TX is meh/bad (depending on your expectations/desires) as are the pedals, but the mechanics of the wheel itself are pretty good, better than anything else sub $500.

I have the Mad Catz wheel. It is prices, but feels like I am racing in Forza with it.

I do not use it all the time, usually only fire it up before I head to the track (cliche I know) to get my mind right on DCT transmissions.

I read tons of reviews and watched tons of videos. I picked the Thrustmaster, upgraded to the three pedal, and got their 7 speed gated shifter. I came from a Fanatec, but I found out their wheel doesn't come out for a while. I think they may be close now though. I have been really happy with the wheel, and ecstatic about the shifter. It's not loud, click-y, and plastic-y like most shifters. Its solid, metal, quiet, and you can adjust the resistance and the throw length. You have to wait for the system to turn on before plugging it in though. Otherwise, I haven't had a single problem. I have not tried the MAd Catz, however, I don't typically like gear-driven units, as they feel less smooth and therefore fail to transfer nuances as well. My only real gripe is the flimsiness of the directional button for navigating menus and such. It just feels like its going to get less responsive or fail a long ways down the road. But make no mistake, I really like the wheel.

Yeah, I worked out the pricing and saw that with the GTE Rim the price is still $400, so I wasn't sure whether to include that fact in the post. I'll probably just get the TX and then wait a few months for the GTE rim.
